The Nobel Peace Prize is not a victory for anyone who is anti Trump or particularly pro democracy. Maria Machado is pro Trump and pro Netanyahu. A conservative who’s certainly more democratic than Maduro but that’s a low bar. The decision feels like a fudge more aimed at defusing Trump’s ire.

Maybe but he was an actor with a fair bit of stage and tv experience (some film). He’d also studied acting a fair bit by the time he did No. Later many claimed he was raw but that was to burnish their own myths of having found him.
