The Thanksgiving Day parade can best be described as "several hours long"

Remember today: pumpkins are native to North America, and apples aren't. Pumpkins have been food here since before we stole the place.

Therefore, pumpkin pie is more American than apple pie. Though by colonizer logic I guess the fruit we brought here would be more American

Several people I met on Twitter are people I adore. Several have made me a better person through patience and decency. A couple of them showed me kindness that's rare in this world, kind acts done privately that no one knew about. It's a hell-site but it is where I met those people too

A phrase I really don't like is "fixed it for you"

Critical Role Mighty Nein (distant) spoilers, in code, because I am still thinking about this.

Taliesin is a mad genius, evidenced by: "empty. EMPTY!" and his character's name in campaign 2. And it WENT UNDER THE RADAR

Just brilliant. Hidden impactful backstory detail that just sits there in view

Dems need to keep repeating it, and they need to say what mean. “You can refuse illegal orders,

examples of illegal orders are: intentionally harming or targeting civilians, engaging in unauthorized domestic LE actions, falsifying records, or anything else that clearly violates the US constitution”

I absolutely love close-up magic, and magic in general, but I never got into Penn & Teller's Fool Us because I assumed it was just like the other competition shows, and I despise the energy of all those. I've gotten into it now, and I wish I hadn't waited. This will be a thread, sorry but I must

There's something far too powerful about a woman in a jaunty little hat. It shouldn't be legal to simply exponentially increase hotness like that. If she was already far too hot/powerful, it's downright dangerous and irresponsible

Three examples (look away if you aren't sure you can handle it):

I strongly recommend seeing Fight or Flight if you're ok with some bonkers gore (like the ridiculous kind). So good.

And to address an assumption I had made: it's not Bullet Train. Similarities, but it evolves nicely into something else. Bullet Train good, and Fight or Flight good

One of the things I don't really share at work is that one of my very favorite exclamations/intensifiers is "Jesus CHRIST" or just "CHRIST". Satisfying to say, consonants you can really hit hard for extra zest

I have a whole diatribe on taking the Lord's name in vain but that's another show

Their best move is "TECHNICALLY he wasn't a PEDOPHILE" huh

I sure wish we asked more follow-up questions in interviews. Very popular ones should be "what does [x] mean?" and "can you give a specific example of that?" and even "where do these numbers come from?" but we mostly hand them the mic

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' goes SO hard. What a damn song.

I read somewhere that every song but one from that album going platinum or number one or something kinda gnawed at his sanity, because he was chasing the perfect album thereafter

What an album Thriller is, man

I'm closing in on the best offer for my car (for parts), and then she'll be gone for good. I'm in my feelings about it

I think close-up magic is absolutely delightful

Car is totaled. $5,000 to fix. So yeah I'm kinda fucked. Gonna get pennies from a scrap place, and pennies from insurance. We didn't have commission coverage, because it's expensive. Being poor is expensive. At least I'm alive and have a place to live, but no car and can't afford... anything
Got in a wreck. Caused by a selfish prick cutting people off to get into an exit.

I'm physically ok, but damn I do not have the fortitude or money to deal with this. Fingers crossed the damage isn't too bad. Meanwhile, no car.

Because a player's (cool, inventive) backstory and motivations has caused me to need to think about this:

What would happen, in a world with magic and gods and stuff, when a person has lost every memory they had? If they power spells by losing a memory each time in chronological order?

I want more Kingsman movies. Manners maketh man, and those movies maketh me smile
November 5, 2025 at 4:22 PM
Did you remember remember, or did you forget forget, or is it even on your calendar calendar?

Regardless happy fifth of November to all who celebrate

He signs his posts like how your grandparents sign their texts

The posts are vague, directionless ranting usually, from what I've seen. Often actually saying very little if anything. They are, to (semi-accurately) quote Baldur's Gate 3, "ramblings most unsane"

What I'm saying is Longfellow had dealings with a ghost that looked like a little girl who did at least one thing that terrified him

Also if you can handle a beginning with bad guys doing TRULY horrible things to innocent people, both Becky movies are good with -let's just say- satisfying endings
I loved Becky, and had one of those moments where I knew I'd get along with the makers of the movie, the moment she quoted one of my fave poems by one of my fave poets, "there was a little girl" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Weird little poems that somehow feel paranormal are my jam
