1. No party is proposing that Ireland joins a military alliance.
2. Ireland was never been politically neutral and neither is any other country (and that goes for parties like PB4P and SF too).

I have been making this point for some time. It is totally deluded to think the US provides any kind of security for Europe. In fact the US is now a threat to Europe at least in an economic sense and possibly in a military one too - Greenland!
Finally, the Trump administration has turned the US into such an unreliable security partner that Russia is now treating it as a neutral arbiter between Russia and NATO (see above) so a Trump-era US guarantee modelled on Art. 5 would be entirely meaningless. www.axios.com/2025/11/21/u...
