Don't ever admit that you have a weapon in your vehicle or on your person, just say: "Am I free to go, officer?" They want to start a conversation with you as a segue to a search. Anything you say without the presence of an attorney can and will be used against you.

Many of you are aware of police scanners and theu capabilities and, depending on your jurisdiction, they may be legal or not, but if legal, they are highly recommended to aid in counter surveillance. I carry a small Bearcat multiband that I can put in my pocket to listen for transmissions.
