Leadership from our President
CTU President Davis Gates spoke to what the CTU knows: when an unlawful force invades our city, Black communities will also be targeted. As Black, Brown and immigrant communities are under attack, our unity and commitment to keep one another safe is the responsibility of all Chicagoans.

While some Chicago City Council members say Johnson has not been working collaboratively through the budget process, organizers who helped shape the proposal say different, adding that tweaks were expected as long as the bottom line is met: taxing the rich.

Vasquez has an issue with borrowing money. Scott’s issue is with the head tax and TIFs. Other alders question transparency and impact with the latest budget proposal.

Members of City Council just sent a loud and clear message to Chicagoans. 25 alders would rather protect the biggest corporations in Chicago than protect you from another property tax hike.

Call your alder. Tell them to vote YES on the Protecting Chicago Budget.
