you guys remember those big ominous cubes in the middle of town when we were growing up? what was with that
While I *am* trying to replicate the tech and game design of 90s point and click adventure games, I've also chosen to let myself include things that may not be period appropriate but look cool.

Like this lens flare!

I'm using the magical JPGPU by @ompu.co to simulate the compression effects of a QuickTime video clip being played within a pre-rendered game 😊

GOG is having a classics sale right now and you can re-live my childhood for under 10 bucks!

Once you complete all four, i will send you my social security number.

You will then become me.

Needed some promotional movie cardboard stands for the theater in my game so I present to you:
- Family Vacation 6: Dimension X (with face cutouts for photos!)
AND
- Try Hard to Not Die (starring Gunner Hogg and Kelly Melons)

Today's "extremely time consuming but not necessarily visually cool™️" update was rigging the medallion puzzle to allow free placement of each AND pick-up/rearrangement of already placed medallions.

Amazing BGM by the talented @connrar.bsky.social !

Found the coolest website that takes random found cassette tapes people submit and digitizes them. I’m listening to an NYC hip hop station from 1994: intertapes.net

I'm starting to finalize certain areas in Rust Valley but the "Tourist Trap Museum" always felt like it was missing something...

I finally figured it out today!

I want to start this year off on the right foot, so I think it's time I come clean and tell you all that my game has been nothing more than an elaborate ruse to force people to look at my vacation photos.

I think one of the toughest things about being on Bluesky is that my game dev Twitter account was built up over 5 years, across 10 short games.

These days I'm only working on one (big) game and it feels different to only be posting about that singular project consistently 🤷‍♂️

TIL: There were different GPUs between earlier + later PS1 models that resulted in noticeably different graphics.
