Runners love to get into the weeds on workouts, but for marathon purposes it's pretty simple: run more easy miles if you aren't in the 80-100km (at least 50-65 miles) per week range.

American health is abysmal.

Unfortunately, when we try to address the issue, we end up with a lot of showmanship & grift instead of substance.

My first Blue Sky post had to be a re-post of @stevemagness.bsky.social and this one captures the essence of training well.
The 5 Rules of Training:
1. The boring stuff is your foundation. Do that consistently for a long time.
2. Let it Come, Don’t Force it.
3. Take the Next Logical Step.
4. You lose what you don’t train. You are either building or maintaining something.
5. Train the individual, not the system.
