Hi Bluesky, I'm an early-career #neuroscientist with a background in cell #physiology and #transcriptomics. I recently submitted my PhD on neocortical #development and #evolution and started a postdoc in #neurodegeneration and #neuroimmunology at UQ. Eager to connect and explore some great #science!
First attempt at primary mouse neuron cultures. Lots of optimisation to go from here, but so satisfying to see those axons start to grow! #neuroskyence #neuroscience

Happy #FluorescenceFriday everyone.

Here's another mouse neocortex (🔵 NeuN, 🔴 tdTomato, 🟢 GFAP, 🟣 DAPI).
This one was transfected/electroporated early in development (E13), but you can still see the injection site in this hemisphere at P10.

Another #FluorescenceFriday, another #neocortex. This one was testing out antibodies on E13 mouse (Tbr2, Pax6, Ki67, DAPI). The Ki67 wasn't great, but it makes for good art!

A cell going through cell division videoed through a microscope. Golgi proteins (cyan) are distributed throughout a dividing cell and then move to the stereotypical location of the Golgi apparatus in the daughter cells: the perinuclear region. DNA- red. #Science #Biology #CellBiology #microscopy

The recent wet weather in Brisbane has brought out all the frogs, like this Graceful Tree Frog I spotted last night.

I've been waiting all week for my first #fluorescencefriday entry!

Here's an old favourite from my PhD of P17 fat-tailed dunnart (marsupial) neocortex.

GFP transfected in green, intermediate progenitors in red, and mitotic cells in cyan.
