Donald Trump, pull back these troops, end their unnecessary mission, and allow them to return home to their jobs and families in California.

Local law enforcement and community leaders are equipped to handle public safety as Portlanders exercise their right to protest. We did not ask for and do not want military intervention.

I'll note that we are actively monitoring the algae bloom notice issued by the Oregon Health Authority, and the optional swim at the end of the event may be cancelled if the notice is still in effect.

This historic donation is another remarkable sign that Portland is on the upswing. It will support cancer treatment, research, and patient care in our community at an absolutely critical moment for the future of healthcare and healthcare research in this country.

As a parent of young kids, I know how important this levy is for our parks. I'll be first in line to advocate for a ballot measure that Councilors can get behind and Portlanders can get excited about — balancing the needs of our parks with our community’s financial capacity. (5/5)

We’re standing at a fork in the road when it comes to our Parks system: from repairs on our pools to maintenance of our open spaces. And on Thursday, July 10, you will have the opportunity to offer input on the levy during the Climate, Resilience, and Land Use Committee meeting. (4/5)

It’s also a chance to continue funding the programs Council fought so hard to get back in our budget this year, ensure our parks summer camp program continues, and address long-term maintenance needs that are piling up. (3/5)

This is our opportunity to invest in our open spaces, our recreation programs, our neighborhood parks – spaces that connect our communities, provide our kids with natural areas close to home, and offer hundreds of hours of classes and programs each week. (2/5)
