phd in clinical psychology | just hoping to increase treatment accessibility for pediatric eating disorders so more kids can enjoy pancakes!
my entire career, papers and grants have started with "eating disorders are bad."
today, I started a grant with "disorders of gut-brain interaction are bad" and then "and they are often comorbid with eating disorders which are also very bad."
career growth.

Hi friends! I am officially licensed in NY and starting to see kiddos and adolescents with EDs virtually. I primarily use FBT and CBT, and I am super funny (my adolescents will back me up on this, begrudgingly).
Feel free to refer any folks my way!

I'm literally happy to respond to an email in which I am addressed in almost any way - dude, hey, what's up, Breiner, Courtney, CB, prof, professor, *absolutely nothing* - but I truly hate when someone calls me Ms. If you're going to use a title, it IS Dr.
Or dude! Just call me dude!

It was an honor to be commented on by Glenn Waller - our study on a brief intervention for ARFID was indeed mixed, but we remain hopeful that we can tweak some pieces, and this could be a really helpful way to support families.

These are the divisions eliminated in CDC. Apparently the man who claims he’s going to address chronic conditions does not want smoking or miner’s health addressed, or lead poisoning, to name just a few.

Because he’s not really trying to address chronic illness. He just wants to remove vaccines.

Okay friends, we've got bot checks up the wazoo in our online study - anagram, attention checks, reCaptcha (I know, this doesn't do much, but still), short and long answer questions. How do you keep bots from infiltrating when your goal is accessibility/not adding to participant burden?

In addition to researching psychology, I'm a big runner and a big running nerd. The Barkley Marathons started yesterday morning, and it's bringing me a lot of joy.
Ten runners completed Loop 1 within the time limit; 9 continued to Loop 2. 14 runners have been tapped out; 16 remain on Loop 1 and will be tapped out when they return. #BM100

I was a T32 at Columbia last year; if I had stayed, I would have lost my job this week. After years of sacrifice for this career - putting off life milestones, moving for internships and fellowships, working for not enough money - this is so devastating. My outrage is indescribable.
I have confirmation from several sources now that all T32s, many F30s and F31s, and most or all Center awards (P30, P50) have been terminated at Columbia.

This is quite damaging to research and to individuals.

This is pure terrorism and cannot be legal. But litigation will take time...

Heartbreaking to see announcements of major layoffs at most research organizations that have played a vital role in supporting federal statistics for education and developing high-quality evidence about what policies/practices actually work.
