Kaliska was terrified of drowning, he could put a brave face on for Alphinaud but couldn't hide it from anyone else, the fear only went away after the attempted drowning in shadowbringers where it was proven he couldn't drown in water thanks to the kojun's blessing

Kaliska will actively hide behind a friend to escape the spotlight, he Haaaaates it, the only 'spotlight' role he won't back down from is when leading the charge into battle. After that he doesn't want to talk to strangers about it, he'll write a report afterwards but no interviews.
