This #FingerpostFriday we are thanking the Somerset Vintage Motorcycle Club for their kind donation to our fingerpost fund.

Their annual signpost rally is a great way to explore Somerset but vintage bikes have no SatNav.
No problem - our lovely cast iron posts show the way!

We can’t afford to weaken National Park protections ⚠️

But there are rumours that some in Westminster want to remove the Protected Landscapes duty - the only real power to secure action for nature

We can't let 30 years of campaigning go down the drain

The UK is the fifth-worst in Europe for green space loss, with 1,680 football pitches of protected land lost in five years.

Brownfield sites with planning permission sit unused. We must rethink our towns & cities as compact, sustainable places that celebrate the countryside on their doorstep.

You might remember Scott, one of our litter heroes.

Scott cleans up the paths of Merriott every day.

Well, Scott is not happy 😡

In August he picked up 49 dog poos.

In one small Somerset village.

Come on people, clear up after your dogs and care for our countryside

Today's the day.
We'll be speaking at the Public Inquiry to try to stop the destruction of 2 miles of hedgerows and 157 acres of farmland in #Frome.
The local community have been magnificent, working together to show why 1700 houses, not in the Local Plan, should be refused.
Please wish us luck.

The government will build up to 40,000 homes on brownfield land over the next decade. We’ve long backed a brownfield-first approach, building near services.

With space for 1.2M homes on brownfield, we want the government to deliver truly affordable & social housing, not just first-time buyer homes.

Neighbourhoods in Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Cambridge will be transformed with homes, green spaces, shops and hotels.
