#ArtAdventCalendar Day 5 Sea Holly flower. I have a small butterfly, bee and bird garden at my home and used macro to take this. The texture of the whole flower is just great.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 4 - Bucket of rose petals. I volunteer in the Sunken Rose Garden at Government House in Victoria and was deadheading when I looked at the bucket. I thought it looked like a big bouquet. Another one that would also make a nice fabric pattern!

If you take photos, make pottery, textile art or other crafts, do paintings, sketches, collages or anything...whether you sell or just do it for fun...I would encourage you to participate in #ArtAdventCalendar You will enjoy looking back on your own work and find lovely things made by others.
Ending day 3 of #artAdventCalendar with 472 participants. A fair bit slower than last year where we had 625 on day 1 (!!)

but still good numbers and most importantly...great posts.

Be sure to let your artist friends on here know what a cool thing this is.

Those who commit the crimes may be powerful but they don’t get to decide whether or not they are guilty.
I offer this history lesson on why Canada must stand up against murder on the high seas today.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 3 - A photo from several years ago of a fungus growing on a tree at Finnerty Gardens at the University of Victoria. This would make interesting quilting fabric!

So CBC Sunday Morning has 3 reporters on talking about the MOU this morning..2 from Alberta; 1 from Ontario...NONE FROM BC!!! So, as usual, BC is being ignored again. #NoPipeline

So lessons learned from the MOA: 1) threaten separation. It gets you rewarded. 2) BC is not important to either Liberals or Conservatives (this would NEVER happen to Ontario or Quebec).

As a new pipeline to the coast rears its head, towns in the path of the last one — Trans Mountain — are facing a major loss of tax revenue from the pipeline.

Shouldn't you ask BC and the natives here what we think? WE voted for you, Alberta did not.

It's a strange way to go about building national unity—agreeing with Alberta what should be built in BC without talking to BC about it.

Can't imagine the federal government taking this approach to a project that went through Ontario or Quebec.

Canada should be focused on nation-building. Instead we are getting sucked into a needless pipeline war to appease Moe and Danielle Smith.
If the PM tries to kill the tanker ban without consulting BC premier Eby or First Nations he will be in for the fight of his life.
And he will lose.

IMHO Carney has underestimated how badly a pipeline deal with Smith will go over, especially here in BC. I’m old enough to remember the RCMP staking out Northern Gateway pipeline opposition meetings.

It’s worth noting that Poilievre’s new campaign manager is a Christian ultranationalist who is responsible for Blaine Higgs (former NB Premier), etc.

He’s literally Project 2025 Canada edition.

Pro tip for politicians considering a pipeline of dilbit to BC's north coast. If you're trying to miraculously turn Alberta red, dream on. You could build 2000 pipelines, those dumb F's won't give you seats. What you may well do is lose seats in BC over another pipeline and you won't gain them in AB
