i think both Aymeric & Estinien are fascinated by Ori having a tail & Ori trusts them both enough to touch him literally wherever so there have been many experiments by the elfs to figure out which part of Ori's tail makes him squirm. it's the underside of the base, obvi. in general i don't think au ra tails are dextrous enough to maneuver objects but i'm sure it's a skill that could be trained. in Ori's case he'll wrap his tail around people as a sort of hug & can also use it as a weapon (by accident or on purpose)

Ori has a spiky nightmare tail towards the end so that thang is not being used for any penetration or wtv. he doesn't like inflicting pain either so he's not using it for impact play or anything. the most he does is try to keep his spikes from flaring out too much while in the moment lmao

i'm not of the mind that auri tails are very dextrous so the most Ori does is wrap his tail around his partners to keep them in place. Ori's tail is strong & he is often receiving from his partners so they're usually within tail grabbing distance. he squeezes it around their hips or torso
