It's decaying meme season. How could I forget??

It’s okay to move on and to let go. I don’t think we do that enough.

What’s the word for when you write someone off and you’ve moved on and you can’t bring yourself to care about them anymore? Like, they don’t even upset you… they simply don’t exist. There’s got to be a specific word for that.

Everything has an expiration date. Patience, time, forgiveness, and you.

Trees will not judge you. They will help you to heal. Go out there and spend some time with them.

For instance, I do not want my photo taken when I’m in the circle, reflecting on my family’s trauma with other survivors of intergenerational trauma. That shit’s just not okay. And neither is swarming dancers’ areas and being in the way. Hard to put regalia on with little to no space!

Don’t get me wrong… allyship is wonderful and it’s needed. Education is also desperately needed and it’s wonderful that there are people who genuinely want to learn… but at some point, it takes away from the healing process that our communities so desperately need.

Truth & Reconciliation… Everything felt off. It didn’t feel like ceremony anymore. It felt like we were there to entertain people at this year’s Powwow. (They even applauded in some inappropriate places.) We were also greatly outnumbered. We need a middle ground… We should have safe spaces to heal.
It says: I find it so bizarre how Sept 30th has so quickly become largely focused on educating non Indigenous peoples but not on the healing of Indigenous peoples. I cannot find anything that feels safe as an Indigenous person to go to that wouldn't involve some form of education or pacifying white guilt. I wish organizations who tout their commitment to reconciliation would consider donating funds to give Indigenous peoples a chance to do things together for this day that is deeply rooted in our families trauma, without non-Indigenous peoples. We deserve spaces where we are not expected to perform or educate. Non-Indigenous peoples get a day off with ample places to learn, but I will likely stay home. This doesn't feel right.
Isn't this about us? Where's the balance?

Lobotomy. That’s what some people require in order to decolonize their mindsets.

I wish I was joking.

“We apologize for the distress the comments on this post caused. We have turned off comments and deleted the existing ones.”

That’s a start.

I get it, you hate me and you hate my relatives and ancestors. You don’t need to keep on proving it in the comments on every single post made by Indigenous people/allies. It’s been obvious for hundreds of years now 😡

Sorry bout this rant I’m just super extra bitchy

For The National Day For Truth and Reconciliation organizations need to turn their comments off fk

Because all the hatred and racism in the world is in those comments. I’m so damn tired

I actually gave up on The Boys. I’m looking for something decent to watch and I was wondering about it so… thanks for this!

Why don’t I just go get myself some sushi and stop overthinking stuff

A nice white man teaching me my language…

I… umm… I dunno
creeativentv.bsky.social
The language course I signed up for is being taught by a non-Indigenous teacher and I dunno how I feel about that.

Just jumped into a show called Revival. It's a Syfy show about a town in Wisconsin where the dead come back. Episode 8 has a missing Indigenous girl. The episode gets tribal territory, sovereignty & other things wrong. I'm going to break down the problems I have, who made it, and why it matters.

A Catholic school board in Ontario has been ordered to reverse its ban on all flags except the Canadian, provincial, territorial and school flags.

The policy meant the Survivors’ Flag would be banned from all 151 Catholic schools across the district.

🧵STOP WITH THE WHITE SAGE ALREADY

Look, Natives don't go around wearing Ts as necklaces while eating wonder bread, drinking grape juice, and taking holy water while leaving a couple of bucks in exchange for "good vibes" or whatever because
