Autonome has a new update freshly out of the oven: apps.apple.com/us/app/auton...

Since there're so many new people around here, I thought I might reintroduce the app to y'all!

Autonome is an app for freelancers that need an easy and quick way of creating and sending quotes.

But there's more.

Blogging about learning to code feels quite frivolous in this context, but it is what it is.

I released a new book 🎉

SwiftUI Fundamentals combines my knowledge and experience from using SwiftUI since its release and working on its source code at Apple to give you a solid understanding of the most important aspects of the framework: books.nilcoalescing.com/swiftui-fund...

I'll release a new version of Autonome before the end of the week.

This new update is all about creating invoices and sending them to your clients straight from the app, which should've been available in December.

For some strange reason, Xcode wants me to preview my app in a tamagotchi-sized iOS device.

Here's the thing.

I got a brand new app ready to launch. It's small. Like "it took me 2-3 hours to code" kinda small. But I'm glad I created it because I needed an easy project to gain confidence after a time off.

Should I ship it? It'd be my 3rd released app (the 2nd small one).

What makes a good password? Is it a random combination of letters, numbers and symbols? Length?

I'm not here to promote myself, but as an Italian whose grandparents lived during Mussolini's regime, I wrote something on this topic that I believe you may find interesting: micheleriva.medium.com/umberto-eco-...
Umberto Eco was right all along
I am Italian. I had the absolute privilege that only Italian speakers have to have read Umberto Eco's books in their original language.

Been dodging fevers, flus and colds during this winter season until today.

I didn’t have shivers like this since COVID. And 38° C? The same.

The worst part? I can’t take a sick leave now. My 9 to 5 is bananas ATM.

Luckily I have a killer chicken soup and I’ll try to sleep for over 10 hours.

I’m still not used to Apple Music’s features and UI, and I definitely miss some QoL feats from Spotify, but I’m not going back.

Apple Music’s discovery radio + the fuckery Spotify’s at the moment make it extremely easy for me.

Now I have to figure out how to arrange my playlists by creation date.

Since apparently being a nice person is illegal in the US now, it’s time to pull out my most popular blog post ever.
It’s called “survival tips for women in tech”, but I’m told it works for all genders and in countless industries.

Opening a blog in 2024 was certainly a choice.

Let's keep the extravaganza going into 2025.

Here's a little window into my future projects. Spoiler alert: one of them is a bullshit-free social media platform.

Hello, old friend — cromanalcaidev
Once again, it’s been a steaming hot minute. I started a blog like I was living in 2010 and stopped posting right a week after that. Not that you care, but where the hell was I? Well, I was living my...

Firebase looks like a very promising all-in-one tool: auth, database, easy implementation... At times, it feels too good to be true.

Am I missing something here or it's just as good as it looks?

Well, I'm officially back.

Not that I ever left, but I was on a little hiatus since mid December.

Back then, I'd released a couple of apps, I was dry on ideas and I needed some holidays.

Now the resting time is over.

Let's go break some eggs, am I right?

P.S. What did I miss?

Hey Swift Friends,

Starter Packs have slowed down a bit since I joined here in November.

Nevertheless, Bluesky is growing and I would like to share my little name compilation again.

👋 Happy to add anyone related to Apple platform dev - from beginner to pro.

Don’t be shy to share! 🙌

Starting 2025, I decided to make some changes.

I deleted my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

I picked up books for fun again.

And I went back to running on the (somewhat) regular.

Plus, I’m returning to coding. I have 2 new ideas for apps I wanna launch ASAP.

Sorry to get political, but not doing it would be the real crime here.

What's with so many coders being so sweet on Elon Musk and Trump? What am I missing here? Is the programming world full of nazi ass kissers?

NGL, my political beliefs go against those 2 people, so I'm pretty tilted by it.

Been on a much deserved break from coding, but I’ll be back next week with a brand new project. Before that, I’ll release a blog post with more details of my situation at the moment.

But in short, my partner is having a baby + my work situation improved, so I needed to mull things over for a while.

So my new app is called Parashoot and it’s already pending review.

Don’t expect a lot. It’s a SIMPLE app to find out if you’re better off paying for something up front or going for that credit (especially useful when buying a car).

Here's the icon, BTW.
