Contributor spotlight. At the top there is rainbow text spelling “We chose you” with the subtitle “POCKET MONSTERS”. I'm Crumbshark. I've loved Pokémon since SoulSilver and its chunky petal dinosaur. I'm super stoked to write for its 30th anniversary alongside such talented people. I also make pokemon art sometimes!” Below that, there is a Bluesky username, crumbshark. In the centre right, there is a poem which reads: Team Flare Diary A goofy loser, sure. But don’t they dream of annihilating everyone, too? There are so many people and books at the top of everything who should burn in a slow flame, covered in pig fat, doused in oil. I’m a loser I know and it’s true I’ve lost, so many times and for so long I don’t understand how to accept the world. If Lysandre wins it will be an army of us losers who ascend and rule an empty world with no beliefs. And that’ll show em. That’ll show the plucky hero who quietly wins everything like a gifted child that it’s not about being good or knowing how to be smart or having a head start, it’s not about having a better manifesto or really critiquing the world as it is, it’s just a slap at the winners of this world spitting an empty platitude and leaving a red mark on their face. When I hear the other grunts I can hear that awkward echo, that quiet reverb at the end announcing and annotating that really we have no ideology. I prefer to think in pictures. An autumn leaf. A curling sprig of rosemary. The touch of my crush as we watch the world burn. To watch the world burn. So many schemes outside Laverre and battles all across Kalos just for that feeling, really.
