Our thoughts on the #UKBudget2025:

✅We welcome the various reductions to energy bills.

✅It’s great to see that the Boiler Upgrade Scheme will be continued.

✅The scrapping of the 2 child benefit tax will provide much needed relief to many thousands living in fuel poverty across the UK.

There are millions of children living in cold, damp homes this winter.

In our work, we see first-hand how targeted advice and support can make all the difference.

Today, we're supporting National Energy Action's #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay, because every child deserves a warm and healthy home.

It's great to see that when designed and installed in well insulated homes #HeatPumps don’t have the negative impact on the grid that some have previously suggested.

CSE has secured funding to expand our smart energy support. We'll be scaling up our Smart Energy Action Plans – helping more people like Shelley, who had no idea she could earn £300/year selling her surplus solar back to the grid.

Have you moved in the last five years?

You might have unclaimed credit sitting in your closed energy account. Ofgem figures show that around £240 million in closed accounts is waiting to be returned to consumers.

Contact your old supplier or log in to your old account – you might be owed money.

We've responded to two new government consultations on completing the smart meter rollout by 2030 and on consumer-led flexibility.

They’re fundamentally linked – we can't build a fair, flexible energy system without smart meters in every home that wants one.

🚨 Reports suggest the Chancellor is preparing to divert funds from the flagship £13.2bn Warm Homes Plan in the Budget.

This funding was meant to add to existing schemes not replace them.

Moves to cut funding that helps improve energy efficiency and ends cold damp homes would be an "act of betrayal" by the Government.

Everyone deserves to live in a warm home that doesn’t make them sick.

This winter, we need your help to reach more people with our energy advice and in-person home visits, tackling the root causes of cold, damp and mould before illness sets in.

📢If you or someone you support has a Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) meter, it needs to be upgraded ASAP. 📢

You might have an RTS meter if:
➡️ You heat your home using electricity or storage heaters.
➡️ There's no gas supply to your area.
➡️ You get cheaper energy at different times.
