It is really, really hard to get your head around the raw hubris of the majority. They really will be destabilizing the operating structure of the entire U.S. government. Why? Because they believe they have a better idea about how the past century should've been done.

Something that just occurred to me is for all Hegseth's machismo prostrating it's like a classically cowardly thing to kill defenseless men in war. Like by millennia-old standards of honor.

this is the same mentality that leads to means testing of government services and it has never once made those things function better.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.
