⚠️ #DYK that lost & abandoned fishing gear (AKA ghost gear) is the most harmful form of marine debris to wildlife?

Whether lost through entanglement on a rocky seafloor or an unexpected storm that blows fixed gear off course, ghost gear can continue to entangle wildlife even while no longer in use.

Cal Poly Humboldt's Dr. Darren Ward confirmed the Baduwa’t (Mad River) restoration is a success! Monitoring data shows the 9.3-acre floodplain, converted from old wastewater ponds, provides critical habitat for threatened species.
