Shocker Toys was a crummy company and largely vaporware, but they did a very nice Maxx figure! I have a bunch of their Iszes, too.
A Shocker Toys Maxx figure, and I think that's a NECA ARMY OF DARKNESS Medieval Ash. That photo's from 2010 and they were both cheaper than FUCK compared to figures today. A Shocker Maxx figure, in front of a chunk of Castle Greyskull.

Serious question: isn't this slander? Unless Roger has receipts for those alleged paid protesters, and he specifically doesn't.
atrupar.com
Sen. Roger Marshall: "October 18 is when the protest gets here. This will be a Soros paid-for protest for his professional protesters. The agitators show up. We'll have to get the National Guard out. Hopefully it will be peaceful. I doubt it."

I feel sure you have…wait, that was probably Crow, and you were probably under a stage. But maybe some bubbles got down there? A couple?

I like a dog that’s still a puppy at 12 years old.

Also, I was thrown outta like Journalism 101 30 years ago: there were apparently upperclassmen waiting to get in, and my freshman ass got bounced. Never got back in. Might’a dodged a bullet.

The entire neighborhood just heard me yelp like Homer, since I think one of the neighbor-cats killed and left a mouse for me.

If it's the cat I think it was, she's a million years old and possibly blind; yet really wanted in my house and my garage yesterday. Little dead mouse, to sweeten the deal.

Reading that issue, it just struck me how fun writing cliffhangers for KAMANDI must have been.

Lots of great picks in that thread, but I didn't see Jet Li's THE ONE! I love the hell out of it; where even the baddie gets a sort-of happy ending.

The video makes it seem like it’s her ghost; even if she’s still there: the ghost of their relationship. Which is like way more relatable for me, I get along alright with my dad now!

If I remember, maybe the second album after this underperformed?

Don't forget Everclear's "Santa Monica," he says right up front he's living with a ghost.

Now THAT’S true patriotism 🇺🇸

John Williams music swells, as Grogu carefully weighs out the bag of cookies, then swiftly swaps it for the artifact. Then immediately picks up the cookies again and eats one, as rocks start falling...

Listening to @jowrotethis.bsky.social and Malorie Rubin’s coverage of the #mandalorianandgrogu trailer and when Mal said she needed Grogu in a fedora…

I couldn’t help but sketch her one ❤️ #starwars #grogu @ringerverse.bsky.social
A sketch of Grogu / Baby Yoda in an Indiana Jones fedora reaching out to a Sith artifact on a lit pedestal in an ancient Sith temple to switch it with a bag of sand as in the first scene of Raiders of the Lost Arc

Juno and all trans women and trans folk in general deserve safety and respect. Why are we not doing that? @jay.bsky.team

This is an extremely fair question that needs to be answered and a fair request that needs to be taken seriously. Do something.
junoryleejournalism.com
i think it is fair to request a statement from @jay.bsky.team on TRANS PEOPLE and where we fit in on @bsky.app.

i think as a transgender journalist, it's acceptable and makes sense for me to ask this

and so, the question, am i not a person as a trans girl and do i not deserve to feel safe here?

I do like that one. And CYBERPUNK!
A slightly altered Felipe Massafera cover for Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #8. Guy is choking Hal with green power-ring chains.

GUY: Just admit Billy Idol's CYBERPUNK is a wrongfully overlooked classic, and this'll all be over, Hal...
HAL: >GGGRRK!< No! It sucks!

You know what? No. Even if I'm not regularly watching the new episodes, if the creators and staff are still getting paid, let them ride that gravy train into the sunset.

And some of the newer episodes I've seen haven't been bad!

Basic, basic macaroni.

Look, I was raised with like two kinds of pasta; that was it. I don't think I saw spirals until I was in college...

Use both, belt-and-suspenders that baby.

(I got a bunch of cheap books lately, that were double-bagged. Regular bag and board, inside a fancy Ultra-Pro holder. That’s great, if you wanna spend 40 minutes to open each issue of THOR CORPS.)

Everybody knows there's only one correct way to seal comic bags!
Elmer's School Glue, which probably should not be used near comic books!
ctopley.bsky.social
Plus, you do that and you can probably get at least one Sergio Aragonés one-shot of him "pitching" for the job.

SERGIO: (scribbling frantically) This time for sure, Mark!
MARK EVANIER: (thinking) I wonder if Broadsword Comics is hiring? Something with some class...

Every year, Marvel and DC should subsidize a cartoonist emeritus to produce an annual, 12 issue take on the universe. Any characters they want, anything is on the table. One year and out.

These would be the best selling graphic novels from either every year.
liammcguire.bsky.social
Anyone have a particularly hot comic take?
ctopley.bsky.social
I've been asked that before, and somebody actually did it at some point: the AUSTIN POWERS theme, slower, in a minor key!

Inspired by this, post your four favorite ULTRAVERSE characters. Reasons why in the alt text.
Kyle Hotz cover for NIGHT MAN #4.

I love this book, honestly: trial-and-error crime fighting, with the hook of "powers" that sound horrible. He didn't sleep anymore, and he could hear other people's "evil" thoughts.

I wanted to see him just walking the streets with a lead pipe, clocking people: "You! Pay those taxes! You! Quit cheatin' on your wife! You--ooh, you..." Howard Chaykin cover for FIREARM #18. It's his last issue, and there's a straight-up John Woo shootup, with babies and churches! Needs more doves.

As far as James Robinson goes, I like FIREARM better than STARMAN. Why are you booing me? I'm right. Barry Windsor-Smith cover to CONAN VS. RUNE #1.

Rune was an elder-god vampire-y thing, a horrible bitey monster; who should've had a much longer career as utility bad guy. In a relatively short period, he fought the Silver Surfer, Conan, Venom, and Adam Warlock! Kyle Hotz cover for NIGHT MAN #13.

Rhiannon was an ancient Druid/Celtic sorceress, keeping herself alive for centuries with the occasional murder. Or three. Maybe a bit of cannibalism, as a treat.

Sadly closes file labelled "Mysterio redemption arc."

Nah, he's a jerk through and through, and I don't understand why Daredevil ever stopped beating on him. Kinda want a story where he invents a gas that makes the world look like AI slop! Six fingers, misspelled words, nothing connected...

Mmm, I think I'm still mad at the one that turned a Nightcrawler into a...dragon-y thing to ride around on?
