Just finished JADE CITY by @fondalee.bsky.social (recommended by my friend Kris after I enjoyed THE BONE RAIDERS). Not the same tone of story. It took me a few chapters to adjust my expectations. After that, finished it in a day. Can’t wait to get into its sequel, JADE WAR. So many good characters.

every author in the class action, please file the claim.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

For my partner, I read aloud "Scissors: A Love Story," the first story of Bury My Body Somewhere Nice by @kalvinellis.bsky.social. It's a rollicking fun story with a unique POV. Both my partner and I truly enjoyed it.

You can get it here. kalvinellis.com/bury-my-body...

Today I am do some post-production 🎧 on the latest episode of The Podcast Compels You. I really find this kind of work fun. 🥳 Also, in relation to my previous post, yes, this is a distraction from writing. 🐿️ Anyway, watch for a new episode dropping soon! 👀

I'm having a tough time getting through the second draft of my first novel. I keep distracting myself with other things. The worst part, I know I'm doing it. It's not a question of motivation; I've got that. It's just good old self-doubt. So, I don't write and, rather, do things I know I'm good at.

"Kittredge has put together an important documentary here. It’s not a snarky takedown of one of the most reviled horror sequels of all time, nor is it an attempt at rescuing it from its reputation. It’s a discussion on ambition."

Wrapped up Telluride Horror Show with a viewing of the highly anticipated SHELBY OAKS by the talented Chris Stuckman and EP’d by the nearly godlike @mikeflanaganfilm.com. (We lovingly refer to him as The Flan Man.) it was the perfect horror ending for a perfect horror weekend.
