🐭yea we were actually pricing mini PCs for a while there but ultimately decided like, we can't afford this haha it probably would be nice though since we don't really go anywhere while bringing a laptop hehe

🐭that being said, once in a while it is nice to have that CPU/GPU grunt, and also, if one component fails in a tower PC then you can just replace it, but if it fails in a laptop (or mini PC for that matter) then you're pretty much boned and have to replace the whole thing

🐭I think if this steam deck is doing anything, it's showing us that whenever we get a new PC to replace our desktop we can *likely* just get a midrange laptop and be fine with it. having a tower PC is nice and everything but we don't really play AAA games and most the time dont need that power

🐭thinking about when someone played blobun mini and said it would be great to be expanded on into a full game and we were like "wow have I got good news for you"

(I cant remember exactly what they said but they weren't being ironic, they genuinely didn't know about blobun and were hyped hearing it)

🐭our two primary interests, technology and gaming, are currently so boring because the tech stuff is all "AI is ruining this and that" and the game stuff is all "these games are all bad" or "the game was good but everyone got fired anyways" and none of it is exciting to talk about anymore

🐿️FORTUNATELY I had silver arrows or I woulda just put the run away until everyone else won (because yea, I didn't really even have to beat the game lmao)

anyways the triforce made this promise at the end and it better be right whenever we do another one

🐿️this archipelago ended with us getting every check in our world but not getting anything better than the master sword, so I just stocked up on blue potions so I could use the cape during ganon's fight (and also I was rich) because you can only hit him with spin attacks with the master sword lmao

🦊just for fun and curiosity we decided to try hard coding 4:3 anyways. after having to fix a bunch of stuff that was preventing it from compiling, uh... this happened lmao

I find it really funny that the puzzle is actually framed correctly??? but everything else definitely does NOT like this

🐿️it would be nice to do it properly with proper 16:10 and 4:3 aspect ratio support and whatnot but like, a fair amount of the game was coded on the quick so we actually have no idea how much stuff it would break LOL and we can't really afford to put dev time into figuring that out

🐿️(main thing we're worried about is, if we allow it to do it when the top and bottom space are too large, it might be really distracting and/or flashy and we don't want either of those situations)

🐿since people immediately requested it so much, we ended up figuring out the math for this. now the game will do it on the deck, but it'll also do it for 4:3 for your oh so retro CRTs. However, it wont do it on ultrawide, and it especially wont do it if you've got it in a Tiktok view

🐿we've been trying to figure out what we can do with the extra area on the deck screen. since the game is released and we can't really adjust the hard lock to the 16:9 aspect ratio, we're experimenting with changing the colors of the bars on the top and bottom to match the rest of the screen

🐿️if you saw our post about not being able to run builds on the Deck, we ended up fixing it by just making a private branch on Steam, uploading the builds there, and then downloading them on the deck. It's stupid and we shouldn't have to do all that, but it *does* work so whatever

🐿️anyways in blobun v1.1 if you're playing in gaming mode, the game won't have fullscreen and window size options on the Deck because like, they don't do anything anyways except make the game blurry LOL

🐿️seems Valve was really smart with their API. IsSteamRunningOnSteamDeck always returns true even if you're in desktop mode, while IsSteamInBigPictureMode returns, you know, when you're in big picture mode

to detect if you're on a Steam Deck and in Gamescope mode, just see if both are true

🐿️ok turns out we do have enough for rent, so that's good. however, 3 weeks is more than "10 to 14 days" lmao it's never taken this long, and also, we've read about some devs having to wait months (and *still* not getting paid) so uh, we'll see

🐿️anyways, we requested the payout from being in the queer bundle like 3 weeks ago and they still haven't paid out and like, hopefully they do so before our rent is due or it's gonna get real awkward real quick. hopefully they get back on top of things over there :/
