I love using new CSS features in my WIP portfolio: so far I've implemented scroll driven animations, anchor positioning, sibling-index/-count, view transitions, at-starting-style, container style queries, interpolate size, allow discrete and more! CSS is awesome ✨

The sticker drag is GSAP though;)

`overflow: clip` is my default.

In www.bram.us/2024/02/14/s... I wrote:

“I see no reason to use `overflow: hidden` your site, unless you have a good reason to. Using `overflow: clip` has exactly the same outcome, doesn’t interfere with Scroll-Driven Animations, and has great browser support.”
Scroll-Driven Animations: You want overflow: clip, not overflow: hidden
If you create a scroll-driven animation and find that scroll(nearest) is not working, check for overflow: hidden elements up the DOM tree and change them to overflow: clip.

This is awesome
Responsive Letter Spacing: "What we wanted was a gradual transition: As the font-size increases, the letter-spacing decreases. And ideally, that would happen everywhere by default. Thankfully, modern #CSS was up to the challenge. And it only took one rule to pull off!" cloudfour.com/thinks/respo...

Had a great time at @weyweyweb.bsky.social this week! I even brought my friends to Málaga and forced them to watch my presentation so I can talk about view transitions while we sip wine from now on 💅

The view transition for these ones is going to be a PAIN but I already know it'll be so worth it 🤩

CSS vs. JS

If you still think complex motion needs JavaScript, @cydstumpel.nl will change your mind!

The web motion cycle has decisively swung to modern CSS.
The result? Better performance, cleaner code, and a simpler creative workflow.

Who's going to @weyweyweb.bsky.social?

Can't wait! I'm hosting a workshop on how to create cohesive animations with modern CSS 🎨 and giving a talk: "You might not need JS"✨

You can still register for the workshop, hope to see you there or at my talk the next day 🫶

What'd I miss?

components know:
- user stuff
- device stuff
- app stuff
- design stuff
- what stuff is in them
- what stuff they're inside
- etc

It's amazing how much a component can know on the web, and I'm going to try and list it all out. Help me 🤓
