Finally finished all my ADHD assessment forms and it only took me four months! I hope they consider that as evidence.

I have mixed feelings about this. I met some great people and got to do some cool stuff through social media as a teenager, but it’s so much worse now than it was in the early 2010s. If you’re going to ban it, you need to replace it with something that isn’t profit-motivated (somehow).

In other news, the Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology has announced £5bn of funding to build the Torment Nexus in Milton Keynes, saying it will “create jobs and boost the local economy”.
Shabana Mahmood here, and the vibes are not getting better.

I haven’t really been impressed by any of the new Gorillaz songs but this one in particular is offensively bad. Sounds like he spent about five minutes total writing the lyrics and melody.

I liked the first episode of AKOTSK! Great casting and performances, especially Peter Claffey as Dunk and Daniel Ings as Lyonel Baratheon.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is so fucking good. It manages to be really funny and disturbing in equal measures, and is ultimately about the necessity of empathy and compassion even in the worst circumstances imaginable. Five bones out of five.

One of my most hated tropes is when, at the end of a story, the writer decides to show that the characters are successful and happy by having them start their own business.

There’s a company called Merchoid that sells geek slop (e.g. funko pops and clothing plastered with franchise logos) and I think it’s a really good slur for people who buy that kind of stuff

Everyone seems to be losing their shit over the Stranger Things fandom being weird, as if most online fandom communities aren’t full of literal children. You are raging at thirteen year olds bro, go outside

It’s giving nonce
Keir Starmer's spokesman tells me that X and Grok's creation of sexual deepfakes of children is "completely unacceptable" but again won't commit to taking direct action against them, or to stop posting there.

Says "all options are on the table" but suggests it's a matter for Ofcom, not Government

I actually kind of liked the Stranger Things finale once all the CGI action shit was over and done with. They managed to breathe some life back into the characters to send them off, which was nice.

If anyone wants to know how my Christmas break is going: over the past three days I read The Turn of the Screw and binged all of The Haunting of Bly Manor. (And I just watched the 1961 adaptation The Innocents too). My screw is fucking turned.
