Thank you so much!! I'll grab whipping cream, I'm making a grocery order right now ❤️ I really appreciate your help. Do you have a Ko-Fi or anything I can throw some coins in for your advice?

@geekyjules.julessherred.com Hi Jules!! Still loving your cookbook. I'm part of a meal train making butter chicken for someone who doesn't like coconut. Can I use Greek yogurt in your butter chicken recipe? How should I substitute it?

@dropout.tv I love what you're doing with Game Changer, Parlor Room, and Smartypants this season! I would pay one additional extra dollar a month for you to tell me where I can buy everything Danielle Radford is wearing in her episodes of... everything. Who styles her? #PlusSizeFashion

Red bellied woodpecker (she had hit a window but flew away fine)
A red bellied woodpecker (largeish woodpecker with a black beak, splotched red and grey head, grey breast with a non-visible red patch, and finely striped black and white wings) sitting on mulch in a landscaped bed

If you haven’t been in a public library in ages, you should go and see how amazing they are.

Public libraries don’t get the overall credit they deserve in this day and age. They provide so much access to free knowledge and entertainment for people. They are quiet, calm, and soothing. I can sit in one for hours and get lost in different worlds.

Last re-skeet: THAT.

If telling boys that anything feminine or not-straight worked to make them not-feminine or straight, most of the queer dudes I know wouldn’t fucking exist.

This whole "how are they becoming such radicalized bigots?" thing is so 100% not "they’re being told masculine is bad."

people sometimes say ACAB doesn’t include Sam Vimes and I submit that this is exactly backwards

ACAB absolutely includes Sam Vimes and nobody is more aware of that than Sam Vimes

We're also keeping an eye on industry rumors about shipping times *within* the US.

I don't yet have any sources with actual data, but the general worry is that we'll lose Media Mail - and that Priority Mail and Ground Advantage will slow down (it's currently 3-8 days, with some predicting 5-14).

My yearly reminder for Free Comic Book Day:

Select comics are free for you, but they are NOT free for the stores; they pay money to have them in stock.

So grab your free books, have a good time, but if you can, please purchase a comic book and/or graphic novel while you’re there! Support your LCS!

Great news!

That's three pieces of very good news related to libraries in the last couple of days. Between this, the anti-book ban law in Colorado, and the pause on further dismantling the IMLS, here's a reminder that fighting back works.

It just sucks it took *this long* for such deep action.

Florida’s 2025 Legislative Session will be extended to finish up the budget, but anything that didn’t cross the finish line tonight should be dead—including
HB 1539/SB 1692.

Thank you to all who made sure your opposition known over the last 60 days. They’ll be back, but tonight we get the W!
HB 1539/SB 1692
WILL NOT BECOME LAW THIS YEAR!

It's a huge victory for parental rights, protecting our ability to determine the most suitable content to meet our children's unique educational, social and
personal needs. Key efforts during session:
1.Op-eds opposing censorship legislation
2. A press conference with notable children's and young adult book authors, including Judy Blume, Jason Reynolds, Alan Gratz and
Lauren Groff
3. Partnerships with national organizations to boost reach
4. Opposition comments to lawmakers in committee
5. Meetings with bill sponsors to suggest legislative changes
6. Letter and call campaigns at every step in the process Our small-but-mighty team of parent volunteers, in concert with impactful advocacy partners, held early meetings with critical stakeholders and policymakers before bills were even filed, ensuring those in power knew our concerns and understood what their constituents were saying on the ground — that districts were forced into overcompliance on book removal policies due to fear of fiscal repercussions that could hinder student success, and that very few parents actually support restricted access to literary content. Thanks to you

NONE OF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN
POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT.

THROUGH A STRATEGIC OUTREACH
EFFORT AND REGULAR CALLS TO ACTION, WE WERE ABLE TO ENSURE YOUR VOICES WERE HEARD — OVER AND OVER. AND IT WORKED!
