Hi! I’m a tall queer guy who writes (mostly) shorter queer things, though novels keep happening somehow. Mostly I tell tales that exist somewhere in the Venn of spec-fic, romance, and YA, but always queer.

I’m a huge fan of chosen families and insistent queer history.
The only thing I think I’ll add to the whole Star Wars (especially as it relates to a "vs. Star Trek") discussion is this: I’ve played multiple TTRPGs in both universes with narrators who really know their lore/canon and that made it clear to me both can be amazing: it comes down to the right hands.

Okay, because I need to try and re-spark some writing community joy after… *gestures at everything* how about a revisit on a way you can absolutely support authors you love for zero dollars: by dropping a low-stress, three-sentence review somewhere.

Are y’all getting flooded with what is likely bots-pretending-to-be-gay-dudes that randomly like your previous skeets and post endless AI-slash-X-rated-slash-random memes?

I’ve muted and blocked so very many.

There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.

Officially asking now for author folks (and reader folks) to tell me about the new queer holiday romances coming out this year—I don’t know why I’m having trouble finding them this year, but I am.

Drop 'em here, please.

(Bonus if low-angst; also happy for sapphic—this is not just a dude zone).

It has been zero days since I encountered "that person said something homophobic/probably they’re closeted." Previous record is, I dunno, probably six from that time I was offline for six days.

Stop. Just… STOP.

Turns out this was all much ado about nothing and Google isn’t using your Gmail to train AI and if wanna turn all that stuff back on you can get your spam filters back
Looks like the article has been updated to suggest maybe they misread the policy.

I see people complaining that this also disabled their spam filters, though I still see new messages showing up in spam so it's still working fine for me after disabling things.

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references.

Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

I’m not sure about "exotic" but: CEO of the bookstore showed us a dark-bright-dark-bright slide-show in a movie theatre (her husband owned the chain); I had a migraine that went from 0 to 60 too fast to react from it, and barely made it to the trash can outside the theatre as soon as she was done.
what's the most exotic place you've ever puked? mine's not exactly exotic but i did once have a hangover at the nyc facebook office and barfed in their very nice bathroom
Got food poisoning from Fogo De Chao. Puked out the side of a moving cab along beautiful Copacabana Beach. The most exotic place I'll probably ever puke!
