This is incredibly true. I also often get asked that question and my equally "unhelpful" answer is always: Throw out what you hate doing, do what you love doing to the max.

Stop viewing “finding your style” as the goal. Instead, I suggest dedicating specific time to making artwork while ignoring every piece of advice you’ve ever been given. Give yourself the space to work where you don’t listen to criticism or your inner critic. Make the art and don’t think too hard
