American Astronautical Society (AAS) says the Von Braun Exploration Symposium *will* be held as planned Oct 27-29 regardless of govt shutdown situation. It's at the Univ of Alabama in Huntsville. Govt speakers will only be there if the shutdown is over, tho.

Isaacman would be wise to avoid having himself associated with this regime (their continued dismantling of the space agency is reputational poison IMO):

The last 2 novels in this series were quite good. Looking forward to reading (or listening to) this one.🎧

"A bit of technique: To obtain the image of the Martian yardangs, I assembled 12 black and white photos taken by RMI, a small telescope on the Franco-American ChemCam instrument.
I then colorized the resulting mosaic with the lower-resolution Mastcam image, a technique called pansharpening."

"Looking for a spot to go rock climbing 🧗‍♂️?
I've got just the thing for you: admire these stunning cliffs on Mars photographed by the Curiosity rover. The one in the center is ~39m high, and with Martian gravity being low (1/3 of Earth's), it'll be easier to climb!"

AFAIK, several orbiters from NASA and ESA captured images. ESA images should be released soon, NASA images will unfortunately take until the government shutdown is over...

This is an interesting feature that appears to be a large anticline that is crosscut by wrinkle ridges. Anticlines are folded rock formations that have an upwards convex shape.
