I’m not the first to observe this, but: Mike Johnson functions as a staffer to Donald Trump, not as a speaker of the House. He has made this august, important role teeny-tiny. He is smaller than Stephen Miller and the like. It would be pitiable if it weren’t so consequential.

In every post since 2016, Trump always refers to the NYT as “the failing NYT” even though it remains highly profitable 10 years later. They made $1.4 billion profit over the last 12 months. But they are still “failing” in MAGA World.

I strongly disagree with my friend Steve here. I think a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility—the most modern and secure one, because our president deserves the best—should be named after Trump.
