I'm not doomscrolling, I'm hopescrolling. I see so many people moved to action, so much cool art, persons lamenting their jobs and celebrating their successes. Despite the digital medium, I feel connected with these people. We may be mere strangers on this site, but we all have a shared humanity.

You are so right. I draw lewd art all the time and it's *still* not as deeply rooted as the psychosexual obsession of incels and their ilk. We need a Freud 2.0 to dig up the old stuff and synthesize it with some more recent discoveries.

I have this long worm-like toy that I flail around and the cats love to chase it by jumping all over the place to try and catch it. Most of the time they fail and look very goofy with their jumps, but sometimes they catch it and sit on top of it, slowly blinking in contentment at their victory.

I totally understand the idea that we ought to treat everyone nicely. Unfortunately, that is not how I find myself treated by a lot of people, and so I feel justified in treating disrespectful people like shit. It is, after all, the only thing they appear to understand. Don't tolerate being bullied.

There's some truth to the whole shortening of attention spans, but there's also something to be said about the value of people's time. If I click a video and it doesn't actually start giving me the information it said it would until 3 minutes in, I am not going to watch it. Don't waste my time.
