"Sousveillance" is the recording of an activity by a member of the public, rather than a person or organisation in authority.

It's a great word and an essential thing for us to be doing.

I've been looking for typing games for my kids and Typing Land is by far the winner so far. It's so cute and fun it's hard to stop playing.

After a 5 hour flight, I really appreciate that SLC is designed to minimize the time spent taxiing. The tradeoff is that it takes longer to walk through the airport but it's so worth it to be able to get off the plane and stretch my legs.

It was an amazing party. Thank you to everyone who came. There was a big event where the folk2 merge happened through the system and you can see the aftermath in this photo.

Lasers were first built in 1960. That's 15 years after the atomic bomb dropped. I always pictured them being an earlier 20th century invention.

A lot of the cool stuff is below 92 MHz because that band is reserved for non-commercial stations.

Inspired by @arquipelago.org I printed and bound some PDFs I've been wanting to have around for reference. I used this video to learn the saddle stitch. youtu.be/aWHkY5jOoqM

I'm trying to get more comfortable with C. @b0rk.jvns.ca's Memory Spy tool has really strengthened my intuition for the bits behind the variables.

The best part of trick-or-treating last night was seeing people out in the neighborhood being social and supportive. It's humanity's forte.
I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

Midvale, UT in the WinCo parking lot. Specifically the Great-tailed Grackle. They are a pillar of our community 😆

The junkos' eyes are stunning but I'm a sucker for birdsong, so maybe the chickadees?
I heard the most beautiful grackle calls in a parking lot yesterday.
