Made it this far. Gunning for Strummer next.
I have worked for and with Americans for 25 years and it’s a universal truth that white Americans with career ambitions are all mouth, bullies when they think someone is beneath them, and cowards the rest of the time.

52 Danes died because their country joined America in its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's very hard not to think a) what the fuck were they thinking? and b) anyone in this country who would have us in a similar boat should be in stocks being pelted.

Denmark lost 52 soldiers fighting alongside the US. Now it feels threatened by Trump
Danes, who have been loyal allies of Washington, are blindsided by Trump's insistence on taking over Greenland.

"if it continues"

There's the reality that's been obvious since this started - they just want Ex-twitter to make the problem go away so they don't have to do anything. Absolutely petrified of having to find a spine.
Asked Enterprise Minister Peter Burke if it’s appropriate for the Govt to have a presence on a site not just hosting but creating CSAM.

He said: “If it continues, it would be something I’d be hugely concerned about. This has to stop.”

Obviously means he’s going to try and wait it out in the hope that musk’s lackeys pretend to fix it and promise to be good in future. But I think he’s done us a favour here. It’s a bookmark for when it comes to assessing these people’s character, their courage, and their intelligence.
Tánaiste Simon Harris this evening asked if he'd delete his X account in light of the creation and sharing of non-consensual sexualised images of children and women on Grok, says he'll have to reflect on it.

I could have sworn we were told the Brits were protecting our airspace and this was very embarrassing for us.
Here we have a US military aircraft actually in our sovereign airspace.

Were they given permission? If so, why?

If not, what action is the Irish government taking to denounce this breach of our sovereignty?

Irish policy forbids foreign military aircraft use of Irish airspace while on active military operations

The Stranger Things finale used a sample from Iron Maiden’s ’The Trooper’, which has an amazing riff and rhythm and is much better than Thunderstruck (for example). But the single cover is a Loyalist terrorist emblem, which I can never get past.

Trying to square that I don’t want to see young people returned to their families in coffins with a desire to see someone give America’s military machine a kneecapping.

There’s a something genuinely wrong with the commenter brigade *still* writing and talking about all this like it’s the joined up thinking of rational, intelligent actors. Pretty please, with sugar on top, cop the fuck on.

Christmas tree and decorations put right by the attic hatch because I’m now an age where 11 months feels like 3 and I can’t be arsed making next December’s job difficult when it’s so soon.

How hard can it be for email providers to maintain a directory of legit business email domain names and block mails that aren’t from those domains that use those companies’ names in the phishing attempt? Letting through a phishing from ‘booking.com’ or DHL is a joke.

You know the way people say Netanyahu is the problem, not Israel as a whole, and then you see what the rest of them do and say? Well, that, but for Trump and America.

They’ve been doing war for 80 years without the little permission slip all these tools keep wailing about.
A Mad King has usurped the power of Congress—which represents the American people. That is, he has seized power that belongs to you and me collectively. He has declared war without consultation with or approval from Congress. And with no imminent threat. This is a profound betrayal of the republic.

It’s going to be tremendous watching the international media parrot Trump’s words and other western governments limbo dance under the bar no matter how low the Americans set it.

There are countries that launch bombs and missiles at other countries and then there are the rest of us. The former are all bad. Pretending that some of them are good and are our friends should be over.

Just like nothing will be done about the County Clare hotelier and his minions, or the genocidaires and their enablers, nothing will be done about your man and his CSAM generator website and the people on it. This is the world we are in now - not even a pretence of consequences.

As best I can, my goal for 2026 is to get off as many American platforms as possible. Just finished transferring everything from Google to Proton. Apart from the OS on my basic laptop, no Microsoft products. I pay Apple nothing and don’t use App Store except for banking verification etc….
