DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING is more than just good life advice. It's business manager Christine Kecher's staff pick, and widely regarded today as one of Lucio Fulci’s greatest giallos, rivaling the best work of Dario Argento. See it this weekend at midnight!
IFC Center - Don’t Torture a Duckling
DON’T TORTURE A DUCKLING is a triumphant giallo from Italian horror legend Lucio Fulci (ZOMBIE, THE BEYOND). A sleepy rural village is rocked by the murders of young boys and superstitious locals are ...

Such trickiness, living in such times of polarity. As we go down this route we realise how much of culture (if not most things in daily life) are implicated to varying degrees in global atrocities. My question, is where does that leave us?

⚡️The London premiere of “Tosca” starring Anna Netrebko went ahead despite protests, with dozens accusing the Royal Opera House of betraying Ukraine.

A petition against her has already gathered over 6,000 signatures.

The rhythm of these tweets reminds me of that Aja Untucked moment... "Valentina, You are perfect, you are beautiful, you look like Linda Evangelista ..."

AI filmmaking is peeing. It’s pooping. It’s throwing up. It’s a new kind of liquid coming out. It’s hated by the establishment. It’s what goes in the toilet. It’s wet. It’s what’s in the bathroom.
AI filmmaking and storytelling is punk rock. It’s hip hop. It’s counterculture. It’s a new type of creativity. It’s a new medium. It’s hated by the mainstream film and art establishment. It resists ideology. It ignores gate keeping. It’s uncomfortable. It’s scary. It’s viral. It’s accessible. It’s refreshing. It’s welcoming. It’s here.

I very much vibed with 'Bring Her Up' a sublimely earthy, hallucinatory type of horror that seeks to arouse all the senses, conjuring a heady immersive experience that lingers. And with a brilliantly unhinged Sally Hawkins, who is so unpredictable ramping up the anxiety!

I wrote an essay in the latest edition of @theboyisbeautiful.bsky.social about Queerwave. A film festival that takes place in the old walled city of Nicosia, where I grew up.

the Rehearsal S2 is equally, if not better, sharper than the 1st season. I refrain myself from labelling it reality TV, but it kinda sorta of is, but then so much more.

Such a delightful macabre Cronenbergian delicacy. I was all in!

“It isn’t necessarily about the horrors of the decaying body, but the horror of its no longer being there – which means that above all, Cronenberg has made a love story.”

The Shrouds review: Cronenberg’s grave encounters
David Cronenberg’s macabre modern love story stars Vincent Cassel as a widowed cemetery owner who invents grave cams for the grieving as a way to make sense of his loss.

Just to say whoever was a location scout for The Sandman S2, those bits with Orpheus head supposedly on a Greek island, look far too green and very old ye England not Mediterranean in the slightest. Attention to detail much?

Ofc plenty of stuff to poke at but I did, surprisingly, enjoy 28 Years Later. I was on board with its more dystopian take with just enough exposition but still had a bit of the frenzied energy akin to Boyle's films.

This is Ando. He's been a high-risk explosives detection dog for 6 years, and last week he celebrated his final day on the job. His coworkers threw him a surprise retirement party by showering him with dummies, a special reward that detection dogs are trained to love. 14/10 congratulations Ando

Dogme 95’s Festen at the Royal Opera House is superb. The theme and format works perfectly for opera. Accompanied by a befitting austere score. And to mention the incredibly stylish set filled with Danish-like furniture.
