Been meaning to do this for a while but not got round to it, a public information thread on DUELS, particularly ground duels. They're being used more and more in the mainstream (which is good) but I don't think many understand the detail. Thread: 🧵
One that has really surprised me about Reform polling 20%+ in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 is that they are so obviously English and an English nationalist party.
Either have a sister party with Welsh/Scottish leaders or maybe there is a rump of voters would support a right-wing nationalist party to challenge PC/SNP
BREAKING: Explosive new poll for ITV Cymru Wales puts Plaid Cymru surging ahead of Reform UK in May’s Welsh elections.

Plaid 37%
Reform 23%
Greens 13%
Labour 10%
Tories 10%
Lib Dems 5%

Plaid could form majority with Greens on this basis, with Labour out of govt for first time since devolution.

And exactly the same applies to the "u-turn" and coverage of it.
Nothing is going to change in the digital systems, your digital ID will continue to link them and align to your NINO, NHS Number, Driving License and Passport
The coverage of and reaction to the UK Digital ID makes me despair.
This should be an apolitical success story, something that's been going in-house in the civil service under successive govts since 2022 and is an absolute no brainer.
Should be the poster child of the state working for citizens

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba... unsurprisingly #LFC are in the relegation zone for the impact of VAR errors this season. Another big explainer of results
VAR errors increase - every mistake so far in 2025-26 Premier League
The Premier League's KMI Panel makes judgements on every key decisions. Here's what they say the VAR has got wrong.

Great stat from Michael.
Flo and Hugo had an instant connection, right from the community shield. Now its starting to get productive. I get Gerrard-Torres 08/09 vibes from these 2 #lfc
Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz are the first pair of substitutes in Liverpool's history to both assist each other after coming on in the same match. #LFC

4 playoff games, all of them excellent. Only the Eagles with their Arteta-esque approach dragging down the entertainment levels

Kyle Shanahan special!!!

Eagles fans booing their own team when up 13-10 in the 3rd quarter...tough crowd @philyred.bsky.social

The NFL rules to enforce parity are stronger than ever.
3 teams went from worst to first in their divisions, one of the most equal regular seasons ever and now the first 4 wildcard games all being nail-biters.
The polar opposite of the EPL and UEFA competitions

What a game from Josh Allen.
Stuff of legend, an absolute warrior with some humongous plays
January 11, 2026 at 9:07 PM
4 lead changes in the 4th quarter!

As I said to @unjustlubo.bsky.social yesterday, the Amorim Aug-Dec period is going to be the dead cat bounce of United's inexorable decline.
The Banter Era well and truly continues

The maddest thing about United & Chelsea is that neither sacked the coach because of results. So they've got all the negatives of upheaval but won't even get a new manager bounce* #EPL

Wow, what a result. Proper, proper giant killing. Magic of the cup is real

www.thisisanfield.com/2026/01/arne... this is an excellent reaction to a good result from Slot. He is saying broadly the same things as after poor results, but because the team had a better than expected result, more people will now listen to what he is saying
#lfc
Slot 'bit surprised' by praise of Liverpool performance vs. Arsenal
The head coach compared it to the recent draws with Leeds and Fulham.

@bsky.app can we please have a native polling feature
January 8, 2026 at 11:37 PM
Premier League XG table since start of November.
#LFC best defence and 3rd NPXGD
0.82 NPXGA
But only 1.52 NPXG pg in attack
Next step is once Hugo or Mo are back, can we up the attack and keep the defensive solidity

No Ekitike, Isak or Salah but an excellent battling performance and spent all the 2nd half on the front foot. I'm declaring the crisis of Oct-Nov officially over, we've dogged our way out of it #lfc

Not sure the narrative machine could handle a #lfc winner from a set piece

Arse playing like the away team this half

Said this after the game in August but VVD could play Gyokeres in his slippers every week.
A championship-level big lump who cant even use his size effectively #lfc

Every #LFC fan seems to be annoyed about something rn.
I dont get annoyed very often but no CJ for this game has really boiled my piss.
