85% of the value that social scientists have to offer (or at least, that _I_ have ), is not in presenting my own thoughts and research, but using the general insights of the field to organize things that are happening right now and explain connections that are obvious to pros, but not to others.

Interesting piece which reveals a lot of the tech bro ignorance of government: DOGEr comes in, expects to find lots of inefficiency, is at least willing to acknowledge he was wrong unlike the hard core ideologues.

“I would say the culture shock is mostly a lot of meetings, not a lot of decisions,” he says. “But honestly, it’s kind of fine—because the government works. It’s not as inefficient as I was expecting, to be honest. So anyway let's talk about various risks involved with raw milk. Those risks come in a couple categories: animal health, and sanitation/contamination risks.
Ok look. I have drunk raw goat milk and I probably will again, because when I do it I own the goats and am intimately familiar with their health and the way they're milked and the way the milk is handled. There is NOTHING that would induce me to purchase commercialized raw milk. Nothing.
