I may run SmashPad, but as a 37-year-old living at home in the Bay Area, I'd like to change that living situation.

ANOTHER preview. This time, it's Monster Hunter Stories 3, which I've already spent 10 hours on with the review build.

This game is quite something.

Filipino game alert! @fallenteargame.bsky.social is definitely a game to look out for this year.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension is setting itself up to be quite an ambitious release. I've had a lot of fun exploring the colorful world while struggling and triumphing in combat. All that said, I had to force myself to stop just so I can enjoy the real game more when it comes out.
[Steam Next Fest] Hands-On: I had to hold myself back from playing too much “Fallen Tear: The Ascension”
I first saw Fallen Tear: The Ascencion after I received a press release promoting a trailer for the game. When I found out it was being developed by a studio in the Philippines, it had my full attention. My roots are important to me.

Less than a week after we publish our #Highguard review, we learn that most of the staff have been handed their walking papers.

Just a messed up industry we're in.

Ultimately, Romeo is a Dead Man doesn’t hit all the notes it hoped to hit. When the action is on high, it’s thrilling, but its heavy-handed outlandishness and muddled graphics detract from it.
REVIEW – “Romeo is a Dead Man” is an action-packed bumpy ride
Romeo is a Dead Man is a great action title with some bloody combat, but it's a bit too messy in its delivery.

Code Vein II remains a big piece of the puzzle in a world littered with puzzling Soulslike at the moment. Usually, a second entry into a series like this one does something that would surprise fans (in a good way), but I fail to see that happening for Code Vein II.

What honestly could’ve been a valiant attempt at improving people’s least favorite game in the series ended up being a release that will undoubtedly be the most divisive. Read our review of Yakuza Kiwami 3 + Dark Ties:

Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties Review
The much anticipated remake of Yakuza 3 is out with a brand new side story, but is the full package worth all the trouble?

I’ll always appreciate the people that respect the moment they’re in and understand that their vibe can affect the people around them.

Tomorrow is never promised, but planning will always be as important to me as occasional spontaneity.

Don’t yuck anybody’s yum.

There’s been a lot of talk about #Highguard being dead in the water.

These are people’s lives. That’s not fair. At SmashPad, I try to get my writers to consider all stances before writing something that can be potentially damaging.

Really proud of David’s open-minded review here.

The face you make when you see that a company, especially a gaming company, is saying they're growing when they just laid off thousands of people last quarter.

Time of year where it really sucks to be a FORMER EA employee.

Seeing all these people enjoy Super Bowl activations who don’t even care about football sucks.

I don't understand why people can't just throw specific times at you to match availability. It really isn't that hard.

I said I'd never work in mobile games or baseball again unless it was for the team that I never left.

Last month, I had the opportunity to make it happen, but the powers that be said no. I'm way better than I was eight years ago.

Their loss.

I didn’t review DQ7R. I chose to defer it to Leigh since he’s a bigger DQ sicko than me and could better talk about the history and better analyze changes.

I also played a bit, and if I reviewed it, I would’ve scored it a 3.5/5 or 7/10.

I felt it was “too” easy and needed a fast-forward button.

As I played through Cairn for this review, I couldn’t help but think about my own experience with fitness and the great outdoors.

I likened the challenge of climbing the mountain to when I finished hiking Half Dome in Yosemite, or when people ask me why I do 10Ks.

It’s stuff you just do.
"You have to be a special kind of sicko to look at footage of Cairn and decide it's a game you'd love to play. To be honest, I saw the game a bunch of times at preview events and I never gave it a try because I already knew I'd be here talking about good it is."
