John Bolton once said, “Trump is too stupid to be a dictator.” He wasn’t wrong about his intellect; he underestimated the influence of a bully’s hateful rhetoric & its power to dumbfound the American electorate into a constant state of confusion, eventually surrendering itself to willful ignorance.

Party affiliation for candidates, but not the voters. We need to identify them & their policies not the other way around. “Teams” compromise civic engagement & responsibility & therefore the integrity of the process. The bandwagon promotes party loyalty… /1
The two party system is incompatible with democracy.
We must change our electoral system to restore democracy.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Let’s boycott the travel industry during the shutdown. Hit them with a double whammy for bending the knee to Trump - greedily gobbling up profits & their uber-rich tax cuts. They may get preferential treatment from the WH, but it means nothing if consumers stop doing business with them.

Let’s Boycott the travel industry! They’re already feeling the consequences of a multitude of disastrous Trump policies; hit them with mass cancellations and they’ll never bend the knee again (ref: @jimmykimmel.com )

For almost four decades, Nancy Pelosi has served the American people and worked to make our country better. No one was more skilled at bringing people together and getting legislation passed – and I will always be grateful for her support of the Affordable Care Act.

Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.
He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.
Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now it’s collapsing.
