ADO about nothing much.

Wan, testy, and reedy.

Takoma Park, MD, USA.

Here it's (mostly) dull live streams of city council meetings and quarterly checks of infrastructure matters. For just the less-dull stuff, see @[email protected].

Note that no stations are open and no trains are running; the @purplelinemd.bsky.social is zero percent complete.

Please stop these false, self-congratulatory posts until trains are running between open stations; thanks.

Did you know? Construction on Purple Line is more than 87 percent complete and the work includes miles of new sidewalks to connect people to transit centers and their communities.

🗣️ Hear more about the progress from the Purple Line's Senior Project Director, Ray Biggs, II.

Quarterly @rideonmct.bsky.social check: still (sometimes redundant) "please show the approaching bus driver your cellphone flashlight when standing at a dark bus stop." Some folks don't have cell phones; this is an equity matter.

Fix: eliminate dark bus stops.
January 16, 2026 at 10:19 PM
Quarterly @rideonmct.bsky.social check: 2026 bus schedule contact sections still lack the street address of the TRiPS store (for the benefit of folks without phones and computers).

(The street address of the Monroe Street headquarters does appear.)

Quarterly @metrobusinfo.bsky.social and
@metrorailinfo.bsky.social check: Metro Lift financial aid program requires folks to have a phone number; this excludes folks without phones. This is an equity matter.

Fix: eliminate the requirement.

Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still @takomaparkmd.gov equity walks in the city (in images, on Philadelphia Avenue); the walks used QR codes; they could only be taken by folks with mobile devices and service; they were inherently inequitable.

And…the QR codes no longer work.

Fix: remove the walks.

Quarterly #TakomaPark check: still no @takomaparkmd.gov historic marker(s) on Lee Avenue offering excuses for why we continue to honor racist Confederates with streets named after them.

Now: remove the Lee signs.

Next: install "Mister Lee Ave" signs.

A very modest (given cold weather) earnest start on a new round of quarterly checks. As usual, the round begins with matters of racism and inequity.

Coming soon to Taco Bell: the $2.99 BroccoTaco.
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."

Apartment bathtubs in particular: Fill while the water is hot.

Was going to take Megan for a couple’s massage but we can’t because we’re not the same length, I’m much taller than she is.

While McDonald's Hamburglar is a thief, Alexander Mundy of "It Takes A Thief" is a burglar (and a thief).
