congrats on the 13th week of sobriety, ive been clean of heroin for years and it still is an uphill struggle . So, honestly I think you are amazing. The poem is great, sincere and well written.

Emi. this poem is well written and you use enjambment really well in it to give it a very fluid pace.

now this is clever and something I really like to read especially when the word play (perfect) was used throughout to make a statement. Bloody nice indeedio

I love this invented form of yours mate.. but technical form stuff aside. The sheer masterful way you have used allusion, alliteration and imagery in this makes it a cracking poem. Its just really well written.

Steve the penguin thinks so as well, and he is a good judge of character and poetry

Cracks In the Mirror

It stares at me, from the other side of an empty room,
A face familiar, but still unrecognizable.
Silvered glass, which was not cracked last time I looked upon it
Now shattered into fragments, in each one an impostor.

A thousand faces trapped within; not one is whom I seek,
It stares at me, from the other side of an empty room
And I stare back, wondering who this man before me is
The man with cracks that crawl across his myriad of masks.

I know him not; I never have, but somehow he knows me
His crooked smiles, and weary eyes drill deep into my soul
He stares at me, from the other side of an empty room
From in between the cracks; a man I thought I used to know.

Once upon a time I saw my own face in the mirror
A bright and beaming smile; that was who I'd always be,
But somehow I cant see him in the faces of the beast
That stares at me, from the other side of this still empty room.
