When I was a kid in the 1970’s, there was no VHS, but they did have an abridged super 8mm version of Star Wars at my branch library. I pained the staff every day to run it for me over and over again. It was only twenty something minutes but I loved it. (Image credit: originaltrilogy.com)

Despite growing up in #buffalo I didn't know Tony Conrad super well - but we did work on a cable access TV show together called "Studio of the Streets" from the steps of city hall. I do love this wonderful book, "Introducing Tony Conrad: A Retrospective" edited by Cathleen Chaffee. #ExperimentalFilm

I wanted to celebrate the amazing #ExperimentalFilm writing of Scott Macdonald. I missed him by a few years when he was at Bard College, but I’ve always loved his essays and interviews. If you haven’t read him, look him up. Lots is great books and collections.

Another #ExperimentalFilm book recommendation(s). If you don’t know filmmaker, PeterTscherkassky, definitely check him out. In addition to his miraculous camera less filmmaking, he’s a huge authority on Austrian film history. Both the book about his work and his book “Film Unframed” are great!
