Happy St Katherine's Day to all scholars, librarians, and Katherines. May you win an argument against an annoying man today, in the true spirit of Katherine herself.

Chat, I used to be in cupcakes. Chocolate and vanilla. Then, one day a coworker told me she’d started her MLIS at Rutgers and that I might like it. Well, I sat there and I said, “hell I’m in the wrong business!” Four years later, I was a librarian.

"What if one of YOUR favorite politicians/celebrities/etc is on the list?" Did you all not notice how quickly we dropped Neil Gaiman when we found out about the things he did? Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

Indianapolis Public Schools saw an increase in standardized test scores in reading. Why? They cite a collaboration with the public library and opening access to materials in the collection to students.

Flies in the face of everything the book banners claim.

The Blues Brothers: antiracist, antifascist, ACAB, great soundtrack. Aged better than virtually every other 80s comedy.
What movie do you think is a lot deeper than it is typically given credit for being?

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
