No sadly not, this was taken in the collections. Though a cast is on display in the museum.

Not out down south till Feb I think so you'll have to wait a little longer. Sorry.

In advance of the publication of my new book with @markwitton.bsky.social, "Spinosaur Tales" (Nov 6th), for #FossilFriday, here's a nice close up of a tooth of Baryonyx sitting in the jaw of the holotype. More spinosaur goodness coming in the next weeks as I desperately try to promote the book.

Both seem highly likely!

Oh I know I need to get around and set this up properly and I'm bad for not doing so. But it's also interesting that this is the official advice from the training - just create a different complex passwords for everything but don't write them down and not 'get a password manager'.

every different car park apparently needs an app and a login, loyalty accounts for coffee, buying anything online (Amazon, ebay, Etsy, and any other company you have ever used). Sure, yeah, I'll come up with something complex and different for all of them and change it every 6 months.

ITV, C4, Netflix, Apple, my TV, my laptop, my phone, my internet provider, gas, electric, water, NHS, HMRC, DVLA, and then everything else in the world that now requires an app and login like about 40 different scientific journals, buying tickets for any gig and then access to the stadium etc.,

It also suggests I have a different password for every separate account I have but they should also be complicated and hard to work out. OK, sure. I just have 3 email accounts, plus Google, Facebook, BlueSky, Twitter, my phone, 3 banks, the council, the council parking, Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, BBC

You receive an email asking you to send all your bank account details to a mystery address in Nigeria. Should you a) send them everything along with your Mother's maiden name, home address and phone number of b) not do that?

Ah, it's the GDPR training time of the year.

That's a hell of a photo.

I think when it comes to taxonomy, he's pulled several things out of certain places before.
davehone.bsky.social
Anywhere is good. It'll all be catalogued somewhere and show people are interested in the book.
davehone.bsky.social
Thanks for taking the time to read (or at least skim) it and give such a positive quote.

I guess? I really don't know though, lowly authors dont get told such things by publishers. Best to check with them.

All of these previews contain art form the book done by Mark and are in the colour spread in the centre to go with dozens of his b&w illustrations accompanying the main text.

We will be skeeting more about this in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

And finally we got @deanrlomax.bsky.social to say something nice too.

And Mike Benton was keen to say he liked it too:

My new book with @markwitton.bsky.social on Spinosaurus and their relatives is out a month today! It's available for preorder, so now is the time to get in on this amazing and well-illustrated book on these oddest of #dinosaurs. But don't take our word for it, here's what others have to say:
davehone.bsky.social
MaKrodactylus not MaCrodactylus (which is a beetle genus). But still nice that under some searches he's not coming up.
davehone.bsky.social
He certainly has done so in the past. But even if he is and others are not, it still means his stuff is phenomenally more prevalent and seen by far more people than decent coverage of palaeo topics.
