I just saw where Trump thinks the US should rename (American) football so that we can start calling soccer football. This, because he was awarded the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize. So ... hear me out ... The inaugural SI Metric System Peace Prize.

Is anyone I know here planning to attend the Rust NYC Unconference? I got a last minute invite and booked my travel so I'll be there tomorrow. It would be really nice to meet in person if we have the chance.

I think we underestimated this tree! We went to a cut-your-own tree place and chose this one. It's easily the biggest tree we've ever had. The second pic shows an old bird's nest that was still in it before we cut it down.

The plywood bumper saga has concluded successfully. These were more work than I bargained for but they turned out nice.

Update: I found the time and energy to move all the stuff. But the sheet of plywood turned out to be a sheet of insulating foam. I'm out of luck.
I need to make some bumper frames for the HS robotics team. So I need a sheet of plywood, which I have. But it's buried so deep behind machines and other stock that it feels easier to buy a new sheet.

I think if I wait just a week or two I can check the "uses Rust at work" box. Cross your fingers for me.

I've been dialing in CNC settings to prep for FRC build season. The issues I had with too-small bearing holes are solved. I had to adjust a couple bit diameters (due to wear?) and change the max deviation setting from 0.05mm to 0.01 mm on the onefinity CNC.

I see we're inflicting NFL football on the Euro zone today. Here's a tip: if the refs call a penalty for "illegal formation" just go with it. Don't ask what that is. Nobody actually knows.

have you ever wanted a #GlasgowInterfaceExplorer, but more wireless? #ESP32JTAG is a Glasgow-inspired device which is specialized for FPGA/MCU programming and debug, and works over WiFi. I think it's very cool and I've backed the project www.crowdsupply.com/ez32/esp32jtag
