James Comer is a partisan hack.

After Trump is gone, Comer will be recognized for what he is; one of the greatest threats to our republic after Trump. He uses the power of subpoena recklessly to attack anyone on the other side of the aisle he doesn't like.

"Hey boss, can I get a pardon, please?"
"If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder."
Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

PLEASE, please, please stop being the anti-Trump party.

To win, you need to actually say what you're for! You need a "Contract with America" style campaign that regular people and independents can rally around.

Right now, all you are is anti-Trump. That's not good enough.

This is a telling moment.

GOP pols won't defect from Trump if they believe they'll lose support from the base. They'll only do it if they suspect the base will support their move.

Between this, the Senate's refusal to change the filibuster, and the MTG dustup--something seems to be changing.
“.. Trump’s reversal .. came as dozens of Republicans — perhaps as many as 100 — were already poised to break with him in a vote Tuesday. Even close allies of GOP leadership were weighing whether to defect from the president.”

I understand Trump saw he was going to lose "bigly" and so is trying to get out in front of it so it doesn't look like he lost control of Congress, but here's the question.

If he wants the files released, why doesn't he just ask Pam Bondi to release them?
In a dramatic reversal, Trump now says House Republicans should vote for a measure calling for the release of the Epstein files, essentially a concession that he cannot stop the resolution from being passed. @ashleyahn88.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/live/2025/11...
