Wow. I had absolutely no knowledge of this until now. I can’t decide if it’s great or terrible. I love the extended portentous opening … then into a cheesy synth rendition of the main melody.
I think it’s because people initially complained that the laugh track was too loud, so the producers wanted to make it clear the laughter was a real human audience, not dubbed on from stock.
Each autumn, I find myself mourning the preceding summer a little more and staring down the barrel of the approaching winter with deeper dread. I never used to wonder if I’d make it through to another spring; now the uncertainty plagues me.
Don’t be scared of this pathetic boy, even though he is commander in chief of the biggest military force in the world and has the untrammelled power to incinerate the entire planet on a whim.
Every time I read a Reddit thread, it reinforces my understanding that most people have absolutely no knowledge of the world outside their own experience and beliefs.
People are lazy and stupid. They will keep using this shit until it kills them. That’s why it’s imperative we stop AI’s rise to ubiquity before it’s too late, if it isn’t already. It isn’t to save us from self-aware computers; it’s to save us from our thick, gullible, bone idle asshole selves.
I'm sorry but how many more examples do people need before they stop trusting and naively using this technology? It's like people have switched off their brains!
Earwormed by Daft Punk’s Get Lucky in Morrisons in Fort William. I will surely never have this experience again in my entire life and I am therefore strangely grateful.
Thing is, if you’re a lawyer and a Tory - maybe you’re even a Tory peer - and you fail to speak out very clearly and publicly against this stuff, you’re signalling for all to see that you’re at best comfortable with fascism and the destruction of the rule of law
We've already seen judges and lawyers being targeted as "enemies of the people". This increases risk of threats/attacks, while undermining judiciary as a whole. Couple it with Tory plans to scrap immigration tribunals and legal aid for people seeking asylum and it shows utter contempt for the law.
Robert Jenrick is a dangerous maniac who thinks that Trump-style cuntery will work in the UK. It won’t, not least because no decent human being would vote for policies proposed by an MP who perpetually looks like a mortgage advisor turning down an application whilst openly and proudly farting.
