We do know who killed JFK. The Warren Commission was an incredibly thorough and good-faith effort to prove and document what had happened, which they did. The conspiracy theories arose in spite of best efforts to avoid them, but there really isn't anything they could have reasonably done better.
My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess

Evidence of Farage’s unabashed youthful racism has been in the public domain since at least 2013, yet somehow he has been allowed to remain part of the British political conversation. The fact he wasn’t driven back under a rock years ago has emboldened racists across the country to spread hatred.

AI slop cunts have ruined the simple pleasure of sending and receiving cute animal videos. I hope everyone who has ever used gen AI to produce anything expires from rectal leprosy, the talentless joy-free scum.

I know I always big these up, and rightly so, but I particularly love this edition. Two of my absolute favourite people-I-know-off-of-the-internet in conversation.

Guard on this train not fucking around: ‘By the time we get to St Pancras, there will be a lot of people standing. I appeal to your humanity: if you see someone less able to stand than you, please offer them your seat.’

Because the Westminster Village - government, opposition, broadcast and print media - get their news narratives from Twitter and the right wing press, they govern and report on a country that does not exist.
Why do people think England flags have been raised on lampposts?

Get a novel published, sell a million copies, have it adapted into a blockbuster movie, hope this will finally quiet the relentless voice in my head telling me I’m a failure, a fuck-up, useless. Not sure which of these is the most unlikely in 2025, but probably the latter.
What's your absolutely unworkable plan to drop out of your current life (or at least work life) and do something completely different?

The Stone Roses were the first cool band I was ever into. Sending off to Eastern Bloc for their back catalogue of singles (on tape) is one of my most potent memories of being fourteen. Wish I had photos of my bedroom wall, which, thanks to Smash Hits and Number One was a Roses poster shrine.
