USAID ceased to exist on July 1, and its reckless demise will likely haunt American foreign policy for years to come. I was proud to work for USAID (90s and early 00s). USAID helped to stabilize ravaged countries, saved countless lives, and mitigated the migration of thousands of refugees. #USAID

Not surprisingly, given that 1 in 4 families in Maine will be harmed, Senator Collins was given a pass by the Trump WH and GOP leadership to vote against the GOP’s disastrous debt-exploding and safety-net slashing “Big, Beautiful Bill.” Legislation she was obliged to have opposed more vigorously.
