Premier of BC. Leader of the BC NDP. MLA for Vancouver-Point Grey. Husband and father of three.
A busy day in a very snowy Ottawa. Meetings with Prime Minister Carney, federal ministers and fellow Premiers as we pushed for a coordinated crackdown on extortion, moving major infrastructure projects forward, and diversify our trading partners.

Fighting extortion is our top priority.

20 additional officers, a national meeting to coordinate actions and ongoing discussions to do whatever it takes to get criminals off the streets.

PM @mark-carney.bsky.social and Minister Gary Anandasangaree, thank you for the productive discussions.

Many ask about our work with First Nations.

The Eskay Creek mine, announced today, would not exist without the partnership of Tahltan Nation.

Thousands of jobs. Funding services in your community. High demand critical minerals.

All because of the collaboration with Tahltan.

The Holocaust stands as one of humanity’s most profound moral failures. On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we confront that truth with humility, sorrow and resolve. ‘Never again’ cannot be a passive promise; it must be an active commitment to confront hatred.

BC’s mining sector is providing thousands of jobs for British Columbians while bringing hundreds of millions of dollars into Canada’s economy.

We’re making the permitting process faster, so we can unlock BC’s potential as the economic engine of Canada’s new economy.

You’re on the right path, Mark. Canada must stand on our own two feet. British Columbia has your back.

India will soon be the world’s third-largest economy. B.C. just wrapped our first trade mission to India in over a decade—strengthening our deep people-to-people ties and opening doors for new trade and investment.

The Mt. Milligan mine expansion means hundreds of good, family-supporting jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars into BC’s economy.

We’re going to keep that momentum going as we continue to advance major projects and make BC the economic engine of the new Canadian economy.

Last week, as part of our trade mission to India, we held a productive meeting with Chief Minister of Punjab bhagwantmann1 in Chandigarh. We discussed advancing trade and investment opportunities, collaboration on agritech, renewable energy, and skills training.

BC has what the world needs – and the province is working to diversify our trading relationships, so we are less reliant on the United States and to keep our economy growing and support good jobs for British Columbians.

It’s more important than ever to strengthen our trade relationships with international partners other than the US.

This week, we will be heading to India — a key market for BC with enormous opportunities for trade.

Earlier this fall, I met with Shri Dinesh K. Patnaik, the High Commissioner of India to Canada.

BC and India have had close ties for over a century. I look forward to continuing those economic, social, and cultural ties as BC becomes the economic engine of Canada.

Tonight, people will reflect on the year we’ve been through and look forward to the one ahead.

As we say goodbye to the past year, let’s welcome the new one with confidence and with hope, knowing that together we can keep building a stronger, brighter future for BC.

Christmas is a time of joy, giving and togetherness. As people throughout the province put the finishing touches on preparations, I want to thank everyone for the generosity you have shown this season and wish you a safe, peaceful and memorable holiday.

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas!

On the longest night of the year, people from Afghan, Azeri, Iranian, Kurdish, Tajik and Uzbek communities celebrate Yalda.

It is a time for family and friends to gather, recite poetry, tell stories told, and share foods such as watermelon and pomegranate. Shab-e Yalda Mobarak!

Last night, as the fifth light of Chanukah was lit, we were all reminded that the light of resilience and hope will always overcome bigotry and hate.

Thank you to @cijainfo.bsky.social and CJPAC for having us last night.

Mining companies like Anglo Teck & Artemis are showing their confidence in BC. In 2026, we have many more shovel-ready projects. This means more apprenticeship opportunities, more customers for downtowns, good paying jobs, the ability to purchase a home & a better future.

36 years ago, 14 young Montreal women were murdered for one reason: They were women.

Misogyny & violence against women remain deeply rooted in our society. In the past year, there have been horrific attacks in BC that remind us how urgently we need to address this issue.

While John and I disagreed strongly on many things, I have great respect for his commitment to public service and for speaking his mind. I wish him and his wife Kim all the best.

Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home.

Our government stands united with the federal government and the Anti-Extortion task force to find these criminals, arrest them, and ensure that they face justice.

Canadians need their governments focused on real projects, not a fantasy pipeline with no investors.

BC has billions of dollars in privately led projects that are going to create thousands of jobs and bring prosperity to Canada. We cannot put them at risk.

People across BC deserve an affordable place to call home. While the Conservatives want to reverse the progress we’ve made by putting real estate speculators first, we’re focused on making housing more accessible for families.

Today, we remember women hurt or killed by cowardly violence and stand with survivors and their loved ones.

As the 16 Days of Activism begins, we recommit to preventing violence, strengthening supports, and doing the work so every woman in our province feels safe.

Reconciliation strengthens BC’s economy and our communities.

We reject racist, anti-indigenous rhetoric — and we’ll continue working in true partnership with First Nations to deliver jobs, certainty and prosperity for all British Columbians.
