One pernicious step after another, Bezos encroached on the Post editorial policy. Today he seized it fully. The old Washington Post is gone. I'll never write for it again as long as he's the owner.

Part 1. One for all and all for one. The hundreds if not thousands of retired military officers who know Sen. Mark Kelly was right should issue a joint statement saying exactly what he said and challenge Hegseth to court msrtial them all.

C'mon man! The if is admittedly exhausting but still...IF Obama or Biden called 6 GOP officials seditious & called for their execution because they had told military personnel they don't have to obey ILLEGAL orders would the New York Times play the story on Page 16?

Post Opinion just gets more and more embarrassing.

"Things happen" is the sickest answer imaginable about murder, but coming from a megalomaniac thug not out of character.
Just the president of the United States rationalizing that a Washington Post reporter was basically asking to be murdered and cut to pieces with a bone saw because of his reporting.

As he sits next to the thug who ordered it.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Murderer of Jamal Khashoggi.
There is no easier ethical test in the world than "should MBS's money buy him international respect."

Revised comparison: My friend @vermontgmg.bsky.social hss a better one -- Bovino ss modern day Nathan Bedford Forrest leading Klan raids.
The odious Bovino thinks he's George Patton but is actually the Bull Connor of these times.
Dressed up like you’re in patrol in Fallujah, passing some retired banker from Myers Park out to pick up birdseed.

Tonight's Packers loss totally on coach and QB. Defense terrific. Did not deserve this. Defense like the Democratic base. Fired up and resdy to go. Offense like the eight senators who caved. Limp and lame. So disheartening.

Packers only piling on to my dismay.

I can't overstate how much I despise the new editorial board of the newspaper I once loved and owe my career to.

Wondrous sandhill cranes paying their now daily visit to our block in Madison. I love seeing them but worry. Are they here because their natural habitat has diminished? Will ICE rough them up and deport them?

Democrats ramp up probes into Trump’s $300 million White House ballroom
Lawmakers are demanding answers about the project’s financing and what donors have been promised. The White House has defended its use of private donations.

In defense of the White House ballroom

My disgust with my old newspaper's editorial board in the Bezos/Lewis/O'Neal era has hit a new low. But then again Bezos money is involved; hence this pathetic argument for the golden bunker.

The Washington Post and NYT should have Chicago on the front page every single day. Stories, columns and photos. Every day.

How this all isn't front page material every day, in every newspaper, blows my mind
It's hard to overstate how fully engaged Chicago and the surrounding suburbs are in this ICE madness. There are neighborhood watch alerts, spontaneous crowds gathering outside schools at pick up & drop off plus madly blowing whistles and honking car horns, this city is fighting back and hard.

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

Philip @pbump.com is this in fact something Washpost publicists promoted? That makes it doubly sickening.
Surprised to learn that I had an anti-American tilt.

Yes, a fitting metaphor. And no not as important as the larger awfulness he has loosed on our world. But this is not funny. It is hideous. This is the people's house; he is just an unfortunate temporary tenant. Every architect and historian needs to condemn this act of destruction.
Trump: You get that visual allegory of my second term? Photographer: Sure did boss, real fuckin dystopian just like you asked.

The video Trump posted as a king dropping shitbombs on protesters is at once the low point in American civilization; an act of degradation that aptly encapsulates his presidency; an embarrassment that GOP officials will pretend they haven't seen; and a story the bollixed media will underplay.

Medicare? Medicaid? Health insurance? 🤔
Trump: "We'll be making cuts that will be permanent. And we're only going to cut Democrat programs. I hate to tell you."
