The Earl of Strafford is probably a better comparison tbh, rather than the Duke of Buckingham who was assassinated very early in Charles I’s reign
I didn’t mean that the population was in decline, more so whether it was more or less a sharper decline than in other towns and cities
Is it an outlier in terms of population decline since 1989?
Because I can’t imagine that helping if so

British governments always vow to do two things: increase growth, and relentlessly attack everything that increases growth
I mean to the extent there is any "free money printer" left for the UK it's immigration; but by attacking ILR conservatives are now trying to destroy that last pillar of possible growth, since the immigrants with highest earning potential can afford to be more discerning as to where they go.
Genuinely wondered if he was flying a kite for a second

The UNIT uniform redesign is terrible as well

If the tv series doesn’t do it, then Big Finish should have them find an army of Daleks or something in the foundations…with disastrous (and explosive) results

To be clear the River Ouse in question is the River Ouse (which is also known as the Ure) that is the Sixth largest river in the United Kingdom
and not the River Great Ouse (which has a tributary called the River Little Ouse) that is further south and which is the Fifth largest river in the UK
It’s an estuary where two rivers the two major rivers (the Trent and the Ouse) meet
Technically it’s not even a river
It sounds like an obnoxious brand of flavoured Yoghurt drink, like Yazoo
What UK political party are you imagining has its HQ anywhere near the Humber?

Might as well have said the Severn or the Tamar
While my favourites are definitely the second DS9 uniform and the one from Enterprise (also quite like the Enterprise Quilted Jacket tbh)

If the last uniform from Discovery had a second stripe down the front to make it more symmetrical it would be one I like a lot more
I do quite like this unused design from DS9
From the front it kinda looks like it has a built in cape
The Crushers are of Scottish descent, they’re not stated to be Irish
(i.e. the episode with the ghost candle)
51 years of Star Trek being unwilling to visit anyone in that century other than Kirk and co really left a lot of people unwilling to accept it when someone finally did
Especially with TNG/DS9/VOY all leaping forward a century to be distinct
Would argue that no Star Trek series or movie really touching the 23rd century outside of the Enterprise crew before Discovery had the same effect, frankly
